Company History
Direct Development, Inc. was established in 1984 to provide turnkey professional Direct Mail Marketing Services to companies and organizations seeking to increase and better serve their target markets in a cost-effective manner. Since that time we have helped hundreds of clients achieve and exceed their direct marketing and data management goals.
In 1984 most of our clients were not-for-profit organizations seeking professional services in their donor development and direct mail fundraising efforts. Our clientele eventually spread out to include for-profit businesses and government institutions. We now boast a client list of hundreds of organizations and businesses of all sizes.
From the outset we positioned ourselves in the direct marketing industry as a full service firm specializing in all aspects of direct mail, including package layout and graphic design, list research and acquisition, printing, mailing, database design, fulfillment, and strategic consulting services. We now manage multi-channel marketing campaigns involving email marketing in conjunction with traditional direct mail, yielding above-average response rates.

In 2004 we opened an office in Portland, Oregon, in order to better serve our west coast clients. With the second office now in full operation we have doubled our project management staff and expanded our hours to span more time zones. We now have clients all across the U.S. and overseas.
Direct Development is currently a Corporate Member and Sponsor of the National Catholic Development Conference (NCDC) and a member of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington (DMAW). We are also Affiliate Members of the National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals (NAGAP) where we give support and educational workshops at annual conferences. Other conferences we support are the University Continuing Education Association (UCEA Mid-Atlantic), and the BRIDGE Conference to Integrated Marketing & Fund-Raising, which is hosted by the DMAW and the DC chapter of the Association of Fund-Raising Professionals (AFP).

About the Founder and CEO
Direct Development, Inc., was founded in 1984 by Charles Fraga. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Francisco in 1973, he began his career as the Associate Director of Development for a four-county social service organization in the San Francisco Bay Area.
In the mid 1980's, Charles was elected to the Board of Directors of four corporations serving constituents and customers throughout North America in the education, marketing, distribution and constituent management sectors. His ongoing business and marketing acumen is still enjoyed by those boards.
As President and CEO of Direct Development since its inception in 1984, Charles has brought his wide range of business and systems management expertise to bear on numerous client market expansion projects. His proven track record of successful consulting and project management has been the foundation of our company's long list of satisfied customers. Our clients consistently point to his attention to detail, creative ideas, and absolute dedication to customer satisfaction as pivotal factors in their decisions to continue to be repeat customers.
